The waste from pruning oranges will be able to give life to an innovative acoustic insulation. Again, the field of green building uses the principle of recycling and recovery of materials to create somethingnewand save resources. The development of this new material for the field ofgreen buildingwas born thanks to the efforts of researchers from the University of Girona and the Polytechnic University of Valencia. The innovativeacoustic insulationhas already been produced by researchers from Girona and the performances are more than promising enough to deserve an article on the authoritativeJournal of Construction and Building Materials.

Jesus Alba, researcher at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, explains: “The plates obtained offer insulation of about 29 db (A), while conventional plasterboard isolates about 27 dB. These two decibels are important, because they improve the acoustic performance of the wall by 50% ”.
